Her interest in these areas stems from her work from 2006-2018 as a mathematics teacher at Colton High School in Colton, Oregon, along with time spent during her PhD program partnering with elementary teachers to implement inquiry-based mathematics tasks. In her free time, Karie enjoys traveling, cooking, reading mystery novels, and playing board games with family and friends.
